92 /100 | TURMHOF Chardonnay 2018
The Tiefenbrunner 2018 Alto Adige Chardonnay Turmhof does a terrific job of showing the feather light and delicately fragrant side to Chardonnay. We all know that the grape is prone to absorb so much extra richness and concentration from winemaking and oak aging; however, this interpretation from the far north of Italy instead highlights the balanced freshness of the grape with peach, melon and pear-like aromas. There is a touch of honey or custard cream on the lean to mid-weight finish. A spot of acidity adds a last-minute sparkle.

92 /100 | ANNA Pinot Blanc 2018
This lovely expression underlines freshness and sharpness with a very precise and linear quality of aromas, starting with citrus and crunchy pear, then transitioning softly to crushed mineral and quartz. The Tiefenbrunner 2018 Alto Adige Pinot Blanc Anna is another gorgeous expression of a grape that excels in this cool-climate wine region located in the far north of Italy. The overall effect shows so much clarity and pure beauty.

92 /100 | TURMHOF Lagrein 2018
A nice choice for lamb and mushroom stew, the 2018 Alto Adige Lagrein Turmhof shows an inky dark appearance and impenetrable fruit. The bouquet is powerful with a full-throttle mix of black plumy fruit, barbecue spice, tar and campfire ash. The use of oak is especially important to the brawn and concentration that this full-bodied wine will be remembered for. The bouquet shifts and evolves as the wine spends more time in the glass, showing forest floor and even an earthy touch of porcino mushroom. There is a touch of nutty bitterness on the close.
