A wild, exotic wine, the 2013 Müller Thurgau Feldmarschall offers up a compelling mélange of apricot, gingerbread, wild honey and chamomile notes. Intense mineral notes punctuate the super-expressive finisth. The 2013 is without question one of the most eccentric Müller Thurgaus I have ever tasted, and yet it all works.

One of the finer wines in the range this year, the 2012 Pinot Noir Riserva Linticlarus is forward, open-knit and quite inviting, with lovely aromatic complexity that has developed in aging. Crushed flowers, raspberries, mint and sweet spice all lift from the glass. Medium in body, but racy in style. The Riserva Linticlarus is a terrific example of Alto Adige Pinot Noir.

Tiefenbrunner's 2012 Lagrein Riserva Linticlarus hits the palate wiht a rush of dark cherry jam, exotic spices, licorice, leather and menthol. Most of the wilder, gamier edges of Lagrein have been tamed in favor of a distinctly forward, fruit-driven style. Although not especially complex, the 2012 is absolutely delicious. It should drink well for another handful of years.
